Untitled, 2003, Oil and gouache on canvas, 84″ x 54″

On September 11th, 2001, I lived and experienced the devastation to the World Trade Towers. My home and studio were destroyed on that day. I had an 8' x 4' blank canvas standing vertically on an easel which remained unscathed. This is the canvas used for "Untitled".

The left side consists of every person I could gather who perished on that day, totaling 2,915 victims.

The right side is made up of a pattern of Muslims praying.

Each individual painted on the left side is documented separately by their name and a coinciding number, while the right side is made up of a pattern of Muslim men and women praying in different positions.
